Past Life Regression TherapyYou do not have to believe in reincarnation in order for Past Life Regression Therapy to have great impact and bring about profound change in your life and future experience. Past Life Therapy (PLT or PLR) is becoming more and more popular as a viable modality in the treatment of emotional issues and life challenges. Although there is a very strong case for the reality of experiencing pre-life knowledge researched by credible scientists and scholars (Ian Stevenson), we do not need to stretch our belief system in order to benefit from this method of psychotherapy as long as it is facilitated by a trained practitioner—not only trained and experienced in PLT but also in conventional psychotherapy and psychology. |

However, if you do happen to believe in reincarnation, past lives, or hold a psycho-spiritual belief around such phenomena, so much the better. You may find other deeper satisfactions in exploring the images and events offered up to you while in a regression session. |
||
Despite evidence for or against reincarnation, however, the purpose of past-life therapy is not to verify the authenticity of past-life images, but to use them to change the present state of the client and enhance his or her quality of life.. |

General belief or disbelief in reincarnation has no influence on its success. The only condition is that apparent experiences from other times are accepted as meaningful subjective material, without continuously wondering about their objective truth. |

The procedure is relatively simple, but quite different from conventional psychotherapy in a variety of ways. First, the client is interviewed in a normal one hour session where past history is taken and a discussion of current issues takes place. Before beginning this preliminary session it is determined if the client is suitable for past life work through a brief telephone consultation. In the second session, which is typically 1.5 to 2 hours long, the client is put into a light trance state where they are still conscious of their surroundings and will remember all that takes place. I will guide the client into a past life scenario where the client will then describe his or her surroundings, feelings, and visual images, sounds, or smells. We then go into the issues at hand and explore the possibilities presented to us through this imaginal exercise. Although one session is sometimes enough to resolve certain issues, often times the client will return for several, or more, regressions. |

Here is an excerpt from a master’s thesis regarding the efficacy of Past Life Regression Therapy: “(There is) a fast-growing body of research that reveals PLT to be a quick and effective treatment for a wide variety of emotional, mental and physical problems including migraine headaches, phobias, relationship troubles, personal growth, anxiety, depression, insomnia, weight issues and asthma, among others.” Brian Weiss, famous for several books on past life therapy, most notably Many Lives, Many Masters, and Only Love is Real, is a magna cum laude graduate of Columbia University and Yale Medical School, he is also traditionally trained as a medical doctor in the United States. Until July 1990, he was chairman of psychiatry at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, where he enjoyed a national reputation as a psychopharmacologist. He is, at the moment, one of the most prominent advocates of Past Life Therapy in the world (Brian Weiss website.) If you believe you would like to discuss past life regression therapy, please email or call me ((416) 712-1476) to talk about it. PLT may also be something I suggest that a client consider while they are in conventional individual therapy with me. |
